Total Bourbon — Shipping Policy
TotalBourbon.com (the "Site") is owned and operated by Total Bourbon LLC, a California limited liability company ("Total Bourbon," "we," "us," or "our").
Shipping Policy
We ship within the United States only. Additional shipping charges may apply to Alaska and Hawaii. We do not ship to P.O. boxes under any circumstances.
All sales are final. Any exception is solely at Total Bourbon's discretion and is subject to this Shipping Policy, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Return and Exchange Policy.
Free Ground Shipping
Free ground shipping is available on orders with a merchandise subtotal of $300.00 or more, for shipments weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less, via standard ground service only, and only to addresses within the contiguous United States. Orders over thirty-five (35) pounds, expedited or air service, and shipments to Alaska and Hawaii are excluded. If you need expedited shipping, heavier shipments, or service to an excluded destination, please contact us to upgrade your shipping method (additional charges apply). All free-shipping promotions remain subject to every other term of this Shipping Policy, including the restocking fees and the forty dollar ($40.00) shipping-and-handling deduction described below for failed, refused, undeliverable, or returned orders.
1. Age Requirement and Adult Signature
You must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to place an order on this Site. All alcoholic beverage shipments require the signature of a person who is at least twenty-one (21) years old at the delivery address. A valid government-issued photo identification may be required by the carrier at delivery.
Alcohol shipments will not be left unattended, released to a minor, or delivered without the required adult signature.
By placing an order, you represent and warrant that: you are at least twenty-one (21) years of age; the recipient and any person accepting delivery are at least twenty-one (21) years of age; you are legally permitted to purchase, receive, possess, and use the products ordered; and a person at least twenty-one (21) years of age will be available at the delivery address to accept and sign for the package.
2. Shipping Availability and Compliance with Law
We ship from California and only to destinations within the United States that we elect to serve. We reserve the right to refuse, limit, cancel, or hold any order at any time for legal, compliance, fraud-prevention, inventory, weather, carrier, or operational reasons.
By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the purchase, shipment, delivery, and receipt of alcoholic beverages. You represent that the products ordered are for personal consumption only and not for resale.
Title to alcoholic beverages passes to you in California at the time the goods are tendered to the common carrier for shipment.
3. Pricing, Inventory, and Order Acceptance
All prices are subject to change without notice. Total Bourbon is not responsible for typographical, pricing, vintage, image, or product-description errors and reserves the right to correct any such errors at any time, including after an order is submitted.
Submission of an order does not guarantee acceptance of that order. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to reject, limit, or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to product unavailability, pricing errors, suspected fraud, compliance concerns, or shipping restrictions.
If an item is unavailable after your order is placed, we may cancel the unavailable portion of the order and refund that portion only.
4. Processing and Shipment Timing
We make commercially reasonable efforts to process and ship orders promptly. Processing and shipment times may vary due to order volume, inventory availability, weather conditions, holidays, compliance review, carrier constraints, and other factors beyond our reasonable control.
Orders placed after 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday may be held for shipment until the following Monday in an effort to reduce the risk of packages sitting in carrier facilities over the weekend.
Any shipping or delivery date provided on the Site, at checkout, by email, or otherwise is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Total Bourbon is not liable for delays caused by carriers, weather, wildfires, natural disasters, government action, compliance review, labor disruptions, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
5. Customer Responsibility for Shipping Information
Customers are solely responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address and contact information at checkout.
Shipping Protection Insurance, where purchased, applies only to the original shipment from fulfillment to the shipping address on file at the time the order was placed. It does not apply to any later address change, redirect, reroute, forwarding request, carrier hold, access point request, vacation hold, delivery-management change, or other post-order or post-shipment delivery modification unless Total Bourbon approves that change in writing before shipment.
Any request to change a shipping address after an order is placed must be made promptly. Total Bourbon may, but is not obligated to, attempt to accommodate an address-change request. We do not guarantee that any change can be made after the order is submitted, processed, packed, or released to the carrier.
Any fees, surcharges, rerouting charges, return charges, storage charges, or other costs associated with an address correction, address change, or delivery change will be charged to the customer or deducted from any refund, where permitted.
6. Package Redirects, Carrier Holds, and Delivery Changes
If you would like your package delivered to a workplace, alternate address, approved carrier hold location, or other destination, you must contact us before the order ships.
If you use any carrier redirect, forwarding, hold, intercept, vacation hold, delivery-management service, address-change request, access point request, or similar service without our prior written approval before shipment, you assume all risk of loss, theft, delay, misdelivery, leakage, breakage, and damage arising from that change.
Any customer-initiated redirect, forwarding, hold, address change, delivery change, or similar post-shipment request releases Total Bourbon from liability for lost, stolen, delayed, misdelivered, leaking, broken, or damaged packages, including any damage that occurs while the package is being held by the carrier, redirected, returned to sender, or moved between carrier facilities.
Shipping Protection Insurance does not cover customer-initiated redirects, forwarding, carrier holds, reroutes, address changes, access point requests, delivery-management changes, or any loss, theft, leakage, breakage, damage, delay, or return-to-sender issue arising after such a change.
7. Failed Delivery Attempts, Missed Adult-Signature Delivery, Refused Delivery, Undeliverable Packages, and Returned Orders
By placing an order, you agree to monitor carrier tracking information and ensure that a person at least twenty-one (21) years of age is available at the shipping address on file at the time the order was placed to accept and sign for the package on the carrier's initial delivery attempt.
If delivery cannot be completed because: no person at least twenty-one (21) years old is available to sign; valid government-issued photo identification is not presented when requested by the carrier; the recipient is unavailable; the delivery is refused; the shipping address is incorrect, incomplete, inaccessible, or undeliverable; the package is unclaimed; the customer fails to respond to carrier delivery attempts or carrier notices; the customer requests, authorizes, or causes a redirect, forwarding request, hold, address change, delivery change, access point request, or reroute; the carrier is unable to complete delivery after the number of attempts allowed under its policies; or the order is otherwise returned as undeliverable, then the order will be treated as a failed, missed, refused, undeliverable, or customer-caused return shipment.
Shipping Protection Insurance is limited to the original shipment from fulfillment to the shipping address on file at the time the order was placed, through the carrier's initial delivery attempt only. Shipping Protection Insurance is not a lifetime warranty, product warranty, delivery guarantee, return-shipment guarantee, or open-ended protection plan.
Once the carrier makes the first delivery attempt, if delivery is not completed for any reason related to adult-signature availability, age verification, customer availability, refusal, incorrect address information, unclaimed package status, customer-requested delivery changes, carrier hold, redirect, reroute, or any other customer-controlled delivery issue, Shipping Protection Insurance coverage is void for any later loss, theft, leakage, breakage, delay, missing contents, temperature exposure, carrier handling, carrier storage, return-to-sender damage, or damage occurring during any additional delivery attempt or return transit.
After the first carrier delivery attempt, Total Bourbon is not responsible for loss, theft, delay, temperature exposure, leakage, breakage, damage, missing contents, carrier handling, carrier storage, or return-to-sender damage that occurs while the package remains with the carrier, during additional delivery attempts, while held at a carrier facility, during a customer-requested delivery change, or during return transit back to Total Bourbon.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable for failed, missed, refused, undeliverable, unclaimed, redirected, or returned orders. In addition, a twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee will be deducted from any approved refund or store credit. If the order originally shipped pursuant to a free-shipping promotion, we may also deduct forty dollars ($40.00) for shipping and handling.
If a returned package is received by Total Bourbon unopened, intact, and in resalable condition, any refund or store credit will be issued only at Total Bourbon's discretion and subject to this Shipping Policy, including deductions for original shipping charges, return shipping charges, restocking fees, carrier fees, and any other applicable costs.
If a package is returned to Total Bourbon damaged, leaking, broken, destroyed, missing contents, or otherwise not in resalable condition because of failed delivery attempts, missed adult-signature delivery, refusal of delivery, failure to provide an adult signature, failure to present valid identification, customer delay, incorrect or incomplete address information, an unclaimed package, a customer-requested redirect, a carrier hold, or any other customer-caused delivery issue, you remain responsible for the full cost of the order.
In that situation, no refund, replacement, or store credit will be issued for the product subtotal, taxes, original shipping charges, return shipping charges, Shipping Protection Insurance fees, carrier fees, or any other charges, unless Total Bourbon determines otherwise in writing.
8. Inspection Upon Delivery; Missing, Incorrect, or Damaged Items
You are responsible for inspecting your order immediately upon delivery.
Any claim for a missing item, incorrect item, or visible shipping damage must be submitted to us in writing within three (3) business days after the carrier marks the package as delivered.
To submit a claim, you must provide your order number, clear photographs of the exterior shipping box, shipping label, interior packaging, all products received, and the specific damaged, missing, or incorrect item. We may request additional photographs, carrier information, or documentation before evaluating the claim.
If you received an incorrect item, you must email us your order number together with clear photographs of the sealed bottle and packaging. If you do not receive a response from us within fourteen (14) days of your initial email, please resend your email, preferably from a different email address.
Failure to provide timely notice and sufficient photo documentation may result in denial of the claim.
9. Optional Shipping Protection Insurance
We may offer customers the option to purchase Shipping Protection Insurance at checkout on eligible orders. Shipping Protection Insurance is optional and must be purchased at the time of checkout. It cannot be added after the order has been placed.
Shipping Protection Insurance is limited in scope. It is intended only to cover eligible loss, theft, or physical damage occurring during the initial shipment from Total Bourbon's fulfillment location to the shipping address on file at the time the order was placed, and only through the carrier's first delivery attempt to that shipping address.
Shipping Protection Insurance is not a lifetime warranty. It is not a product warranty. It is not a satisfaction guarantee. It is not a guarantee that a package will be successfully delivered after missed delivery attempts, failed adult-signature attempts, refusals, redirects, holds, reroutes, address changes, or return-to-sender movement. It does not provide continuing coverage after the customer or recipient fails to complete delivery requirements.
If the carrier attempts delivery and delivery cannot be completed because a person at least twenty-one (21) years of age is not available to sign, valid identification is not presented, the recipient is unavailable, the package is refused, the package is unclaimed, the address is incorrect or incomplete, or the customer requests or causes any redirect, hold, reroute, forwarding, access point request, address change, or delivery-management change, Shipping Protection Insurance coverage is void for any later claim relating to that shipment.
Once Shipping Protection Insurance coverage is void, Total Bourbon is not responsible for any later loss, theft, leakage, breakage, temperature exposure, delay, missing contents, carrier storage, carrier handling, return-to-sender damage, or damage occurring during additional delivery attempts or return transit.
To submit an eligible Shipping Protection Insurance claim, the customer must email us: the order number; clear photo proof of the damage or issue; photographs of the exterior shipping box, shipping label, interior packaging, and all products received; and any additional information we reasonably request to evaluate the claim.
Shipping Protection Insurance does not cover: any order for which Shipping Protection Insurance was not purchased at checkout; any Blanton's products; return shipments; packages damaged, leaking, broken, destroyed, or missing contents during return-to-sender transit; cracked wax seals; cosmetic wax damage; leaks or seepage; packages returned or deemed undeliverable because an adult signature was required but could not be obtained; packages returned or deemed undeliverable because valid government-issued identification was not presented when requested by the carrier; missed adult-signature deliveries; failed delivery attempts; refused deliveries; unclaimed packages; packages returned due to an incorrect, incomplete, inaccessible, or undeliverable address; customer-requested or customer-initiated carrier redirects, forwarding, rerouting, holds, address changes, access point requests, vacation holds, intercepts, or delivery changes after the order is placed or after shipment; loss, theft, leakage, breakage, damage, missing contents, temperature exposure, carrier storage, carrier handling, or delay occurring after the first carrier delivery attempt when the package could not be delivered; ordinary transit delays that do not involve actual loss or covered physical damage before the first delivery attempt; claims submitted without sufficient photo documentation and the order number; claims submitted outside the required claim period; weather-related issues, temperature exposure, label damage, packaging wear, seepage, or leakage not otherwise approved as a covered claim; any loss or damage occurring after valid delivery has been completed to the shipping address provided at checkout; any loss or damage occurring after delivery to a customer-requested or carrier-approved hold location, access point, pickup location, or alternate delivery location; or any issue arising after the customer or recipient fails to complete the initial delivery requirements.
Shipping Protection Insurance does not override the customer's responsibility to provide a valid delivery address, comply with adult-signature and age-verification requirements, accept delivery, monitor tracking, respond to carrier delivery attempts, and prevent avoidable return-to-sender situations.
Purchasing Shipping Protection Insurance does not make Total Bourbon responsible for missed delivery attempts, failed adult-signature attempts, refused deliveries, unclaimed packages, incorrect addresses, customer-requested redirects, carrier holds, undeliverable packages, return-to-sender shipments, or packages returned damaged because the customer or recipient did not satisfy delivery requirements.
Total Bourbon reserves the right to determine claim eligibility in its reasonable discretion based on carrier tracking, delivery scans, claim documentation, customer communications, photographs, shipping protection terms, and any other relevant information.
Shipping Protection Insurance is not a warranty, is not a lifetime warranty, is not a guarantee of delivery, is non-refundable once coverage attaches to the order, and does not expand Total Bourbon's liability beyond the express terms of this Shipping Policy.
10. Packaging and Weather Conditions
Total Bourbon takes commercially reasonable precautions to package orders for shipment. Orders are generally shipped in durable packaging with protective materials selected in our business judgment. Products with original manufacturer packaging or unconventional bottle shapes may be packed differently, but in a manner we believe is appropriate.
You are responsible for monitoring weather conditions at the shipping destination. During periods of extreme heat, cold, storms, or other adverse weather, you are responsible for notifying us before shipment if you would like us to delay shipment.
If you do not request a hold before shipment, Total Bourbon will not be responsible for damage, leakage, seepage, label damage, packaging damage, cork issues, wax issues, or other issues attributable in whole or in part to weather conditions, temperature exposure, carrier delay, carrier handling, or seasonal shipping risks.
11. Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable sales, use, excise, and local taxes associated with your purchase, except to the extent taxes are collected by us as required by law.
12. Cancellation Requests
Because we begin processing orders promptly, cancellation requests are not guaranteed.
If we agree, in our sole discretion, to cancel an order before it has been packed or shipped, we may deduct a twenty percent (20%) restocking fee from the refund.
Once an order has been packed, processed for shipment, or released to the carrier, it may not be canceled.
13. No Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, all information on the Site and all products and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.
While we strive for accuracy, inadvertent typographical, factual, vintage, image, or pricing errors may occur, and we expressly disclaim liability for such errors.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Total Bourbon shall not be liable under any legal or equitable theory, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or otherwise, for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the Site, any order, any shipment, any delivery, any delay, any non-delivery, any damaged shipment, any failed delivery attempt, any missed adult-signature delivery, any refused delivery, any undeliverable package, any returned shipment, any return-to-sender shipment, any customer-requested redirect, any carrier hold, or any use of our products.
Without limiting the foregoing, Total Bourbon's maximum aggregate liability for any claim relating to an order shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific order at issue, less any non-refundable charges, shipping charges, return shipping charges, carrier charges, Shipping Protection Insurance fees, restocking fees, taxes, or other amounts permitted to be withheld under this Shipping Policy.
15. Indemnification
By placing an order, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Total Bourbon LLC and its owners, members, managers, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to: your breach of this Shipping Policy; your violation of any applicable law or regulation; your failure to comply with state or local laws concerning the receipt, possession, or use of alcoholic beverages; your failure to provide a valid, complete, accessible, and deliverable shipping address; your failure to ensure that a person at least twenty-one (21) years of age is available to accept and sign for the package; your refusal, failure, or inability to accept delivery; any customer-requested redirect, forwarding request, hold, delivery change, address change, access point request, or reroute; or the shipment, transport, delivery, possession, or use of products after title has passed to you.
16. Force Majeure
Total Bourbon will not be deemed in breach of this Shipping Policy or otherwise liable for any delay, interruption, or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, weather events, wildfire, flood, earthquake, civil disturbance, war, terrorism, labor disputes, carrier disruption, governmental action, supply-chain interruption, power outage, systems failure, compliance review, or payment-processing disruption.
17. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Customers agree to contact Total Bourbon first so we may attempt to resolve any shipping, delivery, damage, return, refund, or Shipping Protection Insurance issue before a payment dispute or chargeback is filed.
Total Bourbon reserves the right to contest any chargeback, payment dispute, refund request, or reversal that is inconsistent with this Shipping Policy, the Return and Exchange Policy, the Terms of Service, the customer's checkout agreement, carrier tracking records, delivery-attempt records, adult-signature requirements, return-to-sender records, shipping protection terms, claim documentation, photographs, or customer communications.
By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that Total Bourbon may submit order records, checkout records, policy acceptance records, product records, payment records, carrier tracking, delivery-attempt history, adult-signature requirements, return-to-sender records, carrier scans, photographs, Shipping Protection Insurance claim records, claim approvals or denials, refund calculations, and customer communications to banks, card networks, merchant processors, payment providers, dispute-resolution platforms, shipping carriers, insurance providers, and other relevant parties as evidence that the order was processed, shipped, and handled according to Total Bourbon's published policies.
If a package is returned damaged, leaking, broken, destroyed, missing contents, or otherwise not in resalable condition after failed delivery attempts, missed adult-signature delivery, refusal of delivery, failure to provide an adult signature, failure to present valid identification, an incorrect or incomplete address, an unclaimed package, a customer-requested redirect, a carrier hold, or any other customer-caused delivery issue, Total Bourbon may provide this Shipping Policy, carrier tracking, delivery-attempt records, return-to-sender records, photographs, customer communications, and Shipping Protection Insurance terms as evidence that the customer remains responsible for the full cost of the order and that no refund, replacement, or store credit is owed under this Shipping Policy.
18. Changes to This Shipping Policy
We reserve the right to revise, modify, or update this Shipping Policy at any time in our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Site or placement of any order after any such revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Shipping Policy.
19. Severability
If any provision of this Shipping Policy is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
20. Entire Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy is incorporated into and should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Return and Exchange Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Shipping Policy and another posted policy, Total Bourbon may determine which policy controls to the extent permitted by law.
