Tapatio Excelencia Gran Reserva is a unique extra añejo tequila that was once reserved exclusively for the friends and family of Don Felipe and Carlos Camarena. This exceptional spirit is aged for approximately four years in new white American oak barrels with a heavy char known as the 'alligator burn.' The intense charring helps to absorb impurities, resulting in a smoother and more mellow tequila. Produced in small batches, Excelencia Gran Reserva is considered one of the finest sipping spirits in the world.

Generations of expertise and deep family pride distinguish Tapatio tequila. As the flagship brand of the renowned La Alteña Distillery, founded in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena, Tapatio remains family-owned. Don Felipe's grandson, Carlos, continues the legacy as master distiller.

Tapatio is crafted through an artisanal process and double distilled to nearly bottling strength, preserving the tequila's natural character.
